Dedicated to journaling our work mission trip to Costa Rica sponsored by the Iowa Conference Volunteers in Mission of the United Methodist Church. A place for us to share our excitement, prayers, anticipation, and anything else God puts on our hearts.
Continue praying for the team, for the people with whom we will work, play and worship with in Costa Rica, safe travels and for those we leave at home. God goes before us and will walk with us!

Day 14 Leaving Our Hearts in Costa Rica

Fri. Jan. 18 Up early to load the bus and clean up after ourselves at our “house”. Several people are still not feeling well but eager to get home to rest. A quick breakfast at the church after which we said good byes to cooks, construction men and church people. Mark, Edward and Charlie went to the airport with us and purchased our departure papers which we completed. We checked in and then said our good byes to the guys. The American Airline flight had a mechanical problem just prior to taking off so we sat for about an hour waiting to have it fixed. The flight was late arriving in Dallas to Hurley’s missed their flight. After long lines through the immigration area, we went to our departure gates where our flights were basically on time. We had dropped about 70 degrees upon arrival at our destinations as temps were hovering around zero degrees compared to 70’s in San Jose. Beverly N.
