Dedicated to journaling our work mission trip to Costa Rica sponsored by the Iowa Conference Volunteers in Mission of the United Methodist Church. A place for us to share our excitement, prayers, anticipation, and anything else God puts on our hearts.
Continue praying for the team, for the people with whom we will work, play and worship with in Costa Rica, safe travels and for those we leave at home. God goes before us and will walk with us!

Day 5 House Construction

WED. JAN. 9TH House Construction Crew: We have a full day ahead of us—may God be with each of our teams today.

The weather is sunny and a comfortable temperature—probably be in the upper 70‘s or lower 80’s today! Wind seems to be less than in the last few days. I will be working at the house today and I hope I will find a way to be an asset to them.

We had eggs, toast and fruit for breakfast which was good as usual. I went to the house this morning with the team. They are tearing down the old shed and putting up the new one. The woman and her three children were around and were going to stay around to watch the tools while we came back to eat lunch. For lunch we had mashed potatoes, some form of stew and fruit. Laci
