Dedicated to journaling our work mission trip to Costa Rica sponsored by the Iowa Conference Volunteers in Mission of the United Methodist Church. A place for us to share our excitement, prayers, anticipation, and anything else God puts on our hearts.
Continue praying for the team, for the people with whom we will work, play and worship with in Costa Rica, safe travels and for those we leave at home. God goes before us and will walk with us!

Day 6 Medical Team

Jan. 10 Medical Team

We started off a beautiful day with pancakes and fruit with Chig and Marilyn having birthdays today.

Today we have Sue and Laci joining our group along with Charlie’s wife (Angelina) translating for us and Pastor Edgar going around handing out candy to us and the kids. Definitely a busy day if what we are seeing so far as the first two pews are full and two families are being seen at this time.

Holy buckets! Today was the busiest day of the week as we saw over 100 patients. Some of what we saw today were colds and coughs. We also saw a woman that is 8 months pregnant and had fallen down scraping her knee and also was having cramping sensations in her lower abdomen. When she was examined by Mary it was found that the baby was in the correct position to be delivered and had dropped. Lois H.
