Dedicated to journaling our work mission trip to Costa Rica sponsored by the Iowa Conference Volunteers in Mission of the United Methodist Church. A place for us to share our excitement, prayers, anticipation, and anything else God puts on our hearts. Continue praying for the team, for the people with whom we will work, play and worship with in Costa Rica, safe travels and for those we leave at home. God goes before us and will walk with us!

A note to John and Marilyn Ward. Wish we could be there with you and see all the good work you are helping. We want to wish you a very happy birthday, Marilyn. Hope you have many happy memories of this mission adventure. Love, Mary and Ted
Wow! What an impact you are making on so many lives - including yours. Blessings to you. I am yearning for the warmth of climate and heart you have been experiencing.
Just want to say Hi to Dave and Nancy. Thank you for letting me have the oppurtunity to read on the wonderful diffrence you are making for some one elses life. Take Care. Colleen L.
Our work group of 36 volunteers under VIM leader Beverly Nolte will travel to Costa Rica from Jan. 5th through the 18th to help with designated projects. We will be working under the leadership of Charlie Strong who with his wife have established Strong Missions to assist the children of Costa Rica. Charlie is a registered individual volunteer with UMVIM. One of the main focuses will be working with Hogar Vista de Mar (View of the Sea Home), an orphanage housing eighty children ranging in age from infants to 12 years old. Many work projects will be available which will include painting at the orphanage, building a home for a family, renovating a Methodist Church in San Jose, caring for the medical needs of the people, presenting a 5 day Bible School, providing hair cuts and taking part in a children's feeding program.
