Marjorie has good system to keep the waiting lines in order, people waiting to see the doctor. I bandage the young man’s elbow so he wouldn’t bleed on my BP cuff. We learned he had “wiped out” on his motorcycle so had many more abrasions. Children enjoyed colored stickers they receive when Mom has her BP checked. Older woman came who is very incapacitated & diabetic. No blood sugar test for 3 mos. and it was 263. No money for meds. Mary is helping her. Constant stream of people to see Mary and to get haircuts. I now see 22 people in the medical “waiting room” and 8 lined up for hair cuts. Today was the VBS grand finale day! After helping to serve lunch to approximately 40 kids (rice/beans, squash-like veggie and drink) we cleaned the tables, floor and moved the tables into position for our last day.

The preschoolers—27 in number led by Nancy, the 6 – 8 y/o led by Vera and one of the church girls and a group of near 40 led by Michele and Barbara learned a Bible lesson, sang songs accompanied by sign language and enjoyed a host of crafts.
Closed ½ hr. early for a special song and “prayer” service the children had for us. Each laid their hands on us (all the teams) and prayed. Heart felt by all of us. Many thank you’s and the diplomas for all the students. Also each child was given a cloth bag filled with treasures such as crayons, pads of writing paper and small things. What beautiful children—we had a great adventure!
Norma, the pastor’s wife, served us coffee and sweet bread. Then we packed up in the van and Charlie’s vehicle and stopped at the Farmicia to order 3 prescriptions, which the pastor’s daughter took back to the church.
Good feelings that for this week we were able to help a bit and share in the spirit of the people. Oh, yes, the grand finale of the medical team was a very bloody nose and swollen lip for one little boy who slid on the slick tile floor and came in contact with the end of a pew. He received excellent care from Lori. Lois H. & Vera V.
